Along with the spring period, autumn is the best time to visit Tuscany
and thus also to look for your dream home…The temperatures are mild, the days are still long, and the lights have an orange hue that warms the landscape at sunset, giving flame colors to the first yellowing leaves. The countryside then is in full swing! For the past few years, in this part of the region, the olive harvest usually begins in October and immediately becomes an occasion for conviviality: a time of celebration that often involves family and friends. The gestures are the simple and ancient ones of laying nets under the green olive foliage and then harvesting, by hand with sticks or with modern tools, such as the electric “pettine”. In the countryside you will often hear farmers animatedly discussing about “resa,” mosca or the palate taste that extra vergin olive oil should have. And every year the magic is renewed, when the crates laden with olives are brought to the oilmill, and out comes that bright green liquid with its fruity aroma and taste and intense flavor, a gift that nature gives us, essential for our cuisine and our health-
